Happy Arbor Day! I’ve got a story for you: Once upon a time, we were at Home Depot for some random house stuff and happened to find some trees on a huge clearance. For years before we even had kids, I thought it would be fun for each child to pick + plant a tree in our yard. So that day last summer, we let Blake and Evelyn pick a tree. Since Oliver was still cooking, we went ahead and picked one out for him, too.
Getting them loaded into our Pilot was quite the adventure. We had a treemendous drive home. Pun intended.

Then one Saturday, we planted them. Brandon and the children dug the hole and I did the hard work of documenting it. (It’s so crazy how much they have changed since then. And Evelyn’s hair!)

All stories have to have some drama, right?. Just a few weeks after we had planted them, we bought our neighbor’s playset. But, the best place for it was right where Blake’s tree was planted. So Brandon had to dig another hole and move it so we could fit the swings.
And now that it’s spring and all of their trees are blooming (we were getting nervous that Blake’s was dead from transplanting it), we were finally able to get a picture of each of them with their trees. It will be so fun to watch both them and their trees grow up together.
