We were all pooped from travel the day before, so Oliver and Dad stayed back in the hotel room for a morning nap. I took Blake and Evelyn to the swimming pool and “tried” to teach them how to swim. Read: learn to be brave enough to jump in the water. We nearly had the pool to ourselves and it was one of those mom moments that made me so happy. It took me back to my days as a swim teacher.
As soon as Oliver was up and we made a quick lunch of mac n’ cheese, we hit up Fish Creek Falls for a hike. My oh my. It was gorgeous. Every time I’m in the mountains I feel so happy and alive, especially when I’m with our family of 5.

The hike was short enough that Blake could do all of it. And actually, there was an upper and lower hike that were short, so we did them both.

After the hike, we went back for a family nap. Heaven. We then went to grab dinner at Taco Cabo, but it had just closed for the night, so we did the next best thing: take a photo by the awesome wall.

We had planned to go an outdoor concert, but on the way we did some window shopping and we found a local baseball game. The kids were so excited to watch it and begged to stay. So that’s exactly what we did. Sometimes the best moments of travel come from finding a surprise along the way. And the backdrop was beautiful!

^This kid is ALWAYS running everywhere. Just like his dad.
Our hotel had a kitchen, so we picked up some groceries for Sunday dinner and then called it a night!
