10 years ago I boarded a jet plane and set off to nanny in Germany for a year. I didn’t know any German, had never been out of the country, and had no idea what I was getting myself into.
It was the best and hardest year. I traveled all over Europe and had experiences I never would get otherwise. But there were also challenges living with a family that’s not yours. We didn’t always see eye to eye on things, and those little boys tried my patience every single day.
I had been working on mission papers at the time that this opportunity came up and suprisingly, things fell into place quickly. Within 3 weeks I was on a plane. Looking back, I can see the hand of the Lord giving me this experience to change my perspective on what’s important and teach me that God loves me and will always answer my prayers. I’ve been forever changed since that year in Deutschland.
We had fun meeting up with Koko and the boys a few weeks ago. My little boys aren’t so little, but I loved watching them play with my Blake and Evelyn as if they were siblings.
