The day after school got out, we crossed off our first Summer Bucket List item: Lagoon! We aren’t big Lagoon fans, let’s be honest, but Brandon’s work party was happening so we decided to go for it- for the kid’s sake, not ours. Despite it being hot and crowded, our children had a lot of repeating kiddie ride after kiddie ride. And since we’re such cool parents, we ended up staying until 5 pm- skipping naps (except for Eli who slept in the stroller.)
Blake was so eager to go back at night and ride some of the medium-size roller coasters. It was just me and him–such a fun date! He picked out whatever rides he wanted and that late, the lines for the kiddie rides are pretty short. His favorites were Bombora and The Bat- which we rode on over and over running around like kids until closing time. We had a sweet talk on the ferris wheel looking out over our city. He told me about his dreams and just kept saying how much he loved our date. I loved it too.
Good thing we had 11 church so we could sleep in a bit after a such a late night!
