Blake’s birthday fell on President’s Day this year, so Brandon had the day off. We still our rental car from the weekend at Zapallar so drove about an hour south of Santiago to Parque Safari. We got our tickets on Groupon.

Having been to the Australia Zoo 2 years ago on his 5th birthday, this was a completely different experience. In fact, the two don’t even compare! This was much smaller and very Chilean. But the highlight was going on a lion safari.

We rode in a caged truck into the lion field. And a lion came on top of our car! We got to see it up close and personal. Another highlight was being there with the Kerns, whose girls my children became good friends with.

We hit up McDonald’s on the way home for Blake’s birthday dinner and then headed back to Santiago.
