Sunday Snippets: St. Patrick’s Day Edition

March 17, 2019

And now for a short break from Chile for another edition of Sunday Snippets! It’s been a while.

Blake: He’s been spoiled these past few weeks with the Murrays and Polls in town. One day I checked him out an hour early to come home and decorate rainbow cupcakes with cousins and he was so surprised and excited. He’s quite into sports and riding bikes and playing games lately. He earned some behavior bucks this week and chose to spend them on playing Sparkle with me and Brandon one night.

Evelyn: Earlier this week she said, “Mom, we need to decorate for St. Packrick’s Day (how she says it) so that the leprechaun will come.” The leprechaun visiting has never been a huge deal, but her and I got to work putting up a banner on our mantle and some shamrock window clings.

Oliver: My “one” goal for this week was to potty train Oliver. And we did it! He has been the easiest to potty train and I don’t take that for granted one bit.

Eli: He’s crawling around and finding all sorts of fun things to get into. He loves to eat and his second tooth is coming in.

Melissa: I have felt the creative itch so much lately, especially when it came to St. Patrick’s Day. The past few years on St. Patrick’s Day I have either been out of the country or 8 months pregnant with no energy to do anything crafty. So this year I had a lot of fun making festive food all week long: green pancakes twice, rainbow cupcakes, and we even make pot of gold popcorn treats for our neighbors. I haven’t had the patience to paint with my children in a long time, but it was a lot of fun to do!

Brandon: Brandon is the happiest he has been in as long as I can remember. He’d tell you the same thing. He has more energy. He loves his new work situation–running his company Bridge Dev. There’s adjustment with change, but overall it’s been a blessing for our family.  And he even really loved St. Patrick’s Day and got quite the kick out of seeing little green footprints across the bathroom sink and toilet. Tomorrow is his birthday and I’m really excited to celebrate my favorite person!

I’m going to try not to be SUPER jealous of your potty training success. I’ve basically been “potty training” Bridger since last September and he still won’t go on the toilet! Gah! Way to go Oliver!!! And I love catching up with all of your happenings. So fun to have cousins in town too!
