Happy first birthday, Eli! A few weeks ago, I started playing “You are my sunshine” on my ukulele. Although you’re mostly always happy, you lit up like I’ve never seen you before. You laughed, smiled and rocked to the rhythm of the music. You really our our sunshine and bring so much happiness to our family. You are our sunshine.
8 days early, you made a peaceful entrance in to the world. You’ve been calm and sweet ever since.
You’ve got 2 bottom teeth and your top are coming in. You love bananas, oatmeal, pizza, oranges, wild rice soup (that’s what we had for your birthday dinner) and carrots. You are still as bald as can be, but I love it because it makes you seem like my baby longer. Your blue eyes are complimented on nearly any time we’re out.
You got your first tooth and learned to crawl in Santiago, Chile. You were a favorite among Chilean ladies…random strangers would touch you and say, “lindo, lindo.” You were a champion traveler and still are pretty mellow.
You crawl all over the house now and have learned to pull yourself up. You aren’t walking, which I’m totally okay with.
Daddy loves to snuggle with you as you hold your bottle of milk. I love to tuck you in your bed and kiss your sweet cheeks and forehead. You are such a blessing to us. Your older siblings adore you and always want to be around you. You are our sunshine!
