Kristin had the brilliant idea to escape to Hilton Head Island for the weekend. We rented a condo at the Hilton Head Resort. Since it was the off-season, we practically had the entire place to ourselves. Our first night was spent playing on the beach until well after dark.
The next morning we went to Harbour Town and loved seeing the candy cane lighthouse, as we called it since it was Christmastime after all. The thing I love about traveling with children is that the simplest things are so fun for them. This pier for example: we spent a good chunk of time just watching the boats and waves and cute Eli run around.

We enjoyed relaxing on the cute red rockers that surrounded the inner harbour. And then the children got out lots of wiggles at the wooden park right there in Harbour Town.

Such a fun outing exploring this darling town. We headed back to the condo for lunch and naps before more beach time that evening.
After taking some family photos for Kristin’s family and playing on the beach, all of us split up to do what we all wanted. That’s the way vacations should be. Time together, but time also for individual interests.
Blaine and Brandon took the boys to play tennis. Kristin wanted to relax and I wanted to venture out. So I took these cute girls on a girl date. We found fun light displays at nearby shopping centers and all the boats decorated with lights and Christmas decor.
It was really fun seeing a beach town at Christmas and making new holiday memories together.
