Our darling Evelyn is 7! A few weeks before her birthday, she told me she wanted a polka dot birthday. It was simple as usual, but so fun to put together.

I was especially grateful to have her birthday to put my energy towards after my miscarriage because it made me happy to serve my little girl. She loved the printed pictures I put on our front door from past years. She loved the giant polka dot wall and all the little details of polka dot confetti on the table. In a house full of boys, her enthusiasm for girly things is just so much fun.

We had planned to go on a little getaway, but she wanted to have a few friends over for a party. Sloane, Hallie and Presley came over to decorate polka dot bags, play Twister, eat polka dot treats and play.

Then it was her favorite pesto pasta for dinner and polka dot cake. (For the record, I bought it as to prove to myself that I could simplify and she was didn’t care one bit.)

We love our Evelyn girl and can’t believe she’s 7! She is the best little mom to Eli, always willing to help out, super organized, and just a lover of life. Perhaps that’s why I felt so strongly to name her Evelyn since that’s exactly what her name means.
