We’ve been watching the Zoom broadcasts for church each Sunday, but for our last Sunday, we decided to go to the Kapaa ward. With daylight savings time we didn’t want to wake up at 6:30 am! Plus, I thought it would be a fun experience.
We showed up in flip flops since we hadn’t packed church shoes. And no one seemed to mind. While I always strive to have everyone in their best dress for the Lord, it was refreshing to feel that we were there to worship and not to show up in our fine apparel.
Oliver is quite the ladies man. While we were getting this picture outside, the chorister offered to take it for us. Oliver recognized her from leading the music and said, “Hey, you’re the GIRL from the music.” She was a middle aged woman, so the fact that he called her a girl really made her day.
She immediately took off her lei and gave it to him. It made him feel all giddy inside. And the aroma of the fresh flowers filled our rental van the entire rest of the day.
