Evelyn’s baptism was sweet and simple…just the way she wanted it. I was happy to honor her wishes.
She wanted Grandpa Dave, Pat, Michael, Sarah and Grandma and Grandpa Sunday to come. So that was it (in addition to our primary president and new Bishop Todd)! Admittedly it felt a little strange when we first began to have such a small group since we are usually used to huge family gatherings. But the Spirit was strong and it felt very personal and intimate with just a small group.
She chose to have chocolate chip cookies for a treat which we served right there at the church. No luncheon at our house afterwards which was great since we are still under construction from the bathroom and pool. We offered to take her out to lunch, but she wanted to go home and have tater tots. So that’s what we did!
We love Evelyn and I’m so glad she chose to get baptized. I’m also grateful for Brandon who was worthy to baptize and confirm her!
